V.6 and an Odd Commission

Well, Version 6 is out, and it's very nice. So nice, in fact, that there's no longer any incentive to maintain a subscription. The only benefit I can discern from shelling out an extra thirty bucks a year to DA is that I wouldn't have adverts on my page. So I'm not going to re-up this time.
For those of you who sell prints, have you had any trouble getting paid? My other account says that DA deposited the money in my PalPay last quarter, but it's definitely not there...

An Unusual Commission
Late one afternoon last week, a couple walked into the gallery and requested that I design and make them a stained glass piece. They were pretty specific about what they wanted - clasping hands of various races and the slogan "Unity and Diversity" written on the glass in enamel. No sweat.
So I inquired about it, and found that it was meant as a gift for the Bishop.
"You see," the gentleman said, "I'm the High Reverend Jones, and we need a special gift."
"Ah, I understand," I replied. "And when do you need this?"
"Tomorrow morning at nine o'clock."
I thought, "Tomorrow? Goodness, you are high!" :D

I did it, though. Sadly, my camera malfunctioned so I don't have a photo of it. But I hope the Bishop liked it. ^_^

Yeah. I noticed that with every update, DA gives normal, unsubscribed users like myself more of the subscriber's features. I really like having deviation thumbnails in my inbox...

Well done on the window. You are a miracle worker. I'm sure he loved it.

I am still a bit confused by the new setup. I'm sure I'll get used to it.

Art for the Artist's sake
Oh, good! My subscription ran out a week or so after V.6 came out, and I really didn't notice much difference. I hope they come up with something nice. I recall back when they adjusted subscriptions about 18 months ago, they gave the people who had print accounts lifetime subscriptions. And I was this close to getting a print account back then. It was heartbreaking.

Thanks! I'm rarely that clever. XD

I'm sure they got their money, but the Ramona account sells a lot of prints, and last quarter was particularly good. Not that I'd be getting rich, but I really ought to enquire.

It was an unusual piece, but I thought it turned out okay for a quick overnight job. I was pretty zombified the next day, though.
