It's a teensy little mouse - 2" by 4", watercolour sumi-e.
My Thursday night watercolour class wanted to learn a little sumi-e, so we did a few small paintings. I thought this one was too cute to just toss in the bin. ^_^
Thanks! I really like this one, too - I matted it in a big brown velvet mat, and it really looks surprisingly sharp. The little simple ones are usually my favourites.
I thought it was a spud when i first saw this i think it looks great Chris, so does the ears and tail say anything they seem to look like writing if you know what i mean
A sumi-e potato. Good eye, actually - the idea behind the style is to paint the subject in the same manner and with the same tools you would use in writing. The brushstrokes are the same and follow the same rules.
