This is a hand-sewn big leather teddy bear I made a few years ago; I found a bunch of leather on sale and thought I'd try something unusual with it. This bear happens to be made of elk leather. He's about 20" tall. As I recall, hand-stitching leather is pretty difficult...

A "teddy" is a woman's undergarment - kind of like a girdle, except that it's supposed to be a bedtime thing.

Glad you like him! I made a lot of bears - most of them were donated to the police in our area to give to kids in domestic situations. ^^

I had a really hard time figuring out which needle to use. It turned out that a teensy needle works a lot better than a big fat one, and I forgot my thimble, so I kept puncturing my thumb with the end of the needle.
