Artist's Comments
This is an older portrait, but one that has always meant a lot to me. I used it on my business cards and mailings for a long time.
Anastasia was the youngest of the four daughters of Tsar Nicholas II of Russia. She was quite a good artist and photographer - many of the old family photographs from that period are ones that she took. For many years there was a legend that she had escaped the Bolshevik slaughter of the family in July 1918, but her body has been found and finally laid to rest. A most interesting family - I'm a bit of a Russian history nut. Original available. This is watercolour, about 12" by 16". I used one of the old photographs as a reference and added a bit of colour. |
